How to CBD

CBD: The Breakdown!

Here at Grassed.Roots we donʼt want you to hop on this herbal trend just because itʼs popular. Itʼs important to know what youʼre putting in your endocannabinoid system, how and why. We hope to cover some of those concerns here!

What is CBD?

CBD, short for cannabidiol, is a chemical compound from the Cannabid sativa plant, which is also known as marijuana or hemp, according to the US National Library of Medicine.

It’s a naturally occurring substance that’s used in products like oils and edibles to impart a feeling of relaxation and calm.

CBD Myth debunked:

There is some misinformation floating around as to whether or not CBD is psychoactive. It IS psychoactive by definition because it can be mood-altering and has moderating effects on various receptors.

However, it is nonintoxicating and WILL NOT leave you feeling sedated or “high”. CBD stimulates the endocannabinoid system, it helps to promote homeostasis in the body and may help give your system the boost it needs in order to continue functioning properly.

What is an Endocannabinoid System?

The Endogenous Cannabinoid System named after the plant that led to its discovery, is perhaps the most important physiologic system involved in establishing and maintaining human health.

Endocannabinoids and their receptors are found throughout the body: in the brain, organs, connective tissues, glands, and immune cells. The main function of the endocannabinoid system is to maintain bodily homeostasis.

Ask for a Lab Report!

It is imperative to buy thirdparty-tested CBD for quality assurance. Cannabidiol is not regulated by FDA so itʼs important to see the test results so that you can verify the accuracy of each companies label.

CBD Dosing: How To

Dosing is dependent on a large variation of factors. Itʼs important to note that no one has the same genetic makeup and will experience products differently. Itʼs also important to read the labels of each product for dosing information specific to that product.

For example, an edible product may have the same amount of cbd as a tincture product, but since they metabolize in your body indifferent ways they may give you different results. As a good rule of thumb always start small and work your way up!

Talk to your Doc!

Please remember to consultwith your medical doctor before using CBD. Cannabidiol may affect how other drugs you are taking work, potentially causing serious side effects.
